Health and Safety

Safety is at the core of our business so you can be assured that we follow and implement guidance issued by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in regard to window cleaning, working at height and and health and safety at work in general.

Additionally we use best practices as recommended by trade federations such as the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF).

Baker Window Cleaning Services provide as part of our service all documents that are required for Health and Safety legislation and where appropriate Work at Height Regulations.
 

Safety Management - IOSH Qualified Staff

Our safety trained staff are fully qualified to assess the on-site conditions and implement a safe system of work. This ensures that all our services are carried out in a safe way that minimises disruption and ensures the well being of your employees, customers and our staff.

Our training is the Institute for Safety and Health (IOSH) accredited - Managing Safely  course, some of the key points of which are described below:-
Managing safely  is for managers and supervisors, it is designed for managers to identify risk and use practical actions to handle health and safety in their teams. It includes training in the following areas:

  • Assessing risks
  • Controlling risks
  • Understanding responsibilities
  • Identifying hazards
  • Investigating accidents and incidents
  • Measuring performance
  • Protecting our environment
All our Risk Assessments and Method Statements are completed by staff trained at this level.

Working at Height - IPAF Qualified Staff

Our Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) operators are trained to the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) standard using accredited IPAF course providers.
This means that if your site requires the use of MEWP's you can be assured that our staff are competent in their safe use.

IPAF Powered Access Licence (PAL) courses comprise of theory and practical elements including:

  • Safety
  • MEWP Types
  • MEWP Checks
  • Ground Conditions
  • Overhead Hazards
  • Operation
  • Emergency Procedures
All our powered access operators are IPAF qualified.
